The Alley Theater opens its' production of Women Behind Bars on Friday. Follow innocent Mary Eleanor (framed for a crime she didn't commit) as she lands inside the Greenwich Village Women's House of Detention.

Playwright Tom Eyen, known more recently for his work on the Broadway hit Dreamgirls, brings the mysterious events of prison life into the satirical spotlight in this darkly humorous play. Mingled with the shock and camp (the play is a spoof on a series of "women in prison" movies of the 1950's) is the exploration of some deep issues facing the human spirit.

Women Behind Bars runs February 25, 26 and March 4, 5, 11, 12. Tickets are $16/$15 student in advance (online at the Alley Theater or through the box office at 502-713-6178), $18/$16 student at the door.

Enjoy an evening at the theatre, but leave the kids at home. Women Behind Bars is for Mature Audiences Only.
